User Guide ● Paging

Making an announcement over paging.

Paging lets you make a live, hands-free announcement that plays automatically over the speaker of every phone in your paging group β€” no need to call each person one by one. This is a feature of your desk phone itself, set up by your administrator, separate from the ConnectUC app.

How do I make a paging announcement?

Pick up the handset or press the speaker button on your desk phone, then press the "Page All" button (or dial the paging extension your administrator set up). Wait a second for the connection to open, then speak clearly. Hang up when you're done β€” there's no need to wait for a response.

What happens on the other end when someone pages?

The other desk phones automatically switch to speakerphone and play the message β€” no need to answer. If a phone is already on an active call, that person won't hear the page until they hang up.

Can I have a back-and-forth conversation over paging?

Paging is one-way, so it's best for quick announcements, not conversations. If you need to talk back and forth, call the person directly instead.

Can I page from the ConnectUC app or my cell phone?

Paging is a feature of your physical desk phones communicating directly with each other over your office network, so it isn't available from the ConnectUC app or mobile app. If you need to reach someone who works remotely, a call or a chat message in ConnectUC is the way to do it.

Paging isn't set up on my phone, what do I do?

Paging groups are configured by your administrator or by our team when your phones are set up. If you don't have a "Page All" button, or aren't sure whether your office has paging set up, call us and we'll take a look.
